1000 $ tickets to see Messi's debut with Inter Miami

Ticket prices for Lionel Messi's possible debut for Inter Miami are over $1,000 (more than 900 euros) on online sales platforms, after club owner Jorge Mas mentioned the 21st July match at DVR PNK Stadium against Mexico's Cruz Azul as a possible date for his debut.
Inter Miami are languishing at the bottom of the MLS East Conference and have lost six in a row, but excitement in the city is at fever pitch and the expectation for the arrival of Messi, who is due to join his new club on 5 July, has rocketed ticket prices for all of the team's fixtures until the end of the season.
Within minutes of the announcement of Messi's signing, which came on 7th June, the price of tickets for the Leagues Cup match between Inter Miami and Cruz Azul went from around $40 to over $500, but now there are no tickets left for less than $1,100 on the resale platform Vivid Seats.
On the 'SeatGeek' platform, the cheapest ticket was selling for $1,060 on Wednesday morning, while on 'GameTime', tickets were selling for a minimum of $1,030.
The DVR PNK Stadium, located in Fort Lauderdale, some fifty kilometres from Miami, seats 19,000 spectators and the club plans to carry out work in the next four weeks to increase the capacity to 22,000. Even so, many tickets are being resold for over $10,000.
