The new Champions League will distribute €2,437 billion to the participants in the continental competition in a variety of ways. 670 million euros are allocated equally among the teams as an initial fee, 914 million euros are performance-related amounts, and 853 million euros comprise a newly created value by UEFA, which considers both the ranking and the television market.
Each of the 36 teams competing in the League Phase receives 8,62 million euros. After that, the amount can increase depending on the results. 2,1 million euros is the amount set by the body for each win in this first phase, with a draw contributing 700,000 euros.
As well as determining the places in the next round (with the top eight qualifying directly for the last 16), the place at the end of the League Phase also has a financial reward. The first-place finishers will receive 9,9 million euros, with the third-place finishers receiving 9,35 million euros, the fourth-place finishers receiving 9,075 million euros, and so on down to the last place finisher, who will receive only 275,000 euros in this respect.
Similarly, teams ranked first to eighth in the first round will receive an extra €2 million, with teams ranked ninth to sixteenth getting an additional €1 million.
As for the later rounds, the teams that qualify for the last 16 will receive 11 million euros. After that, the eight clubs that advance to the quarter-finals will be rewarded with a further 12,5 million euros.
A place in the semi-finals guarantees an extra 15 million euros. Finally, the finalists will receive a further €18.5 million, with the champions receiving a bonus of €6.5 million and a further €4 million for reaching the UEFA Super Cup.
