AC Milan 'very interested' in Chelsea's Joao Felix

On Sunday afternoon, 'Sky Sport' journalist Florian Plettenberg reported on social media that Milan are very interested in signing Joao Felix. The approach comes in the wake of the San Siro's inability to secure a move for Marcus Rashford from Manchester United. The journalist explains that the 'Rossoneri' board do not have the financial means to do so.
He does not specify whether the Italians intend to reach an agreement with the English side for a transfer or a loan deal for the Portuguese, although the latter is more likely given their financial difficulties and the recent arrival in Britain. Last summer, the London side moved 52 million euros to Atletico Madrid for him. They already had him on loan for the 2022-23 season.
This season, the former Barcelona player is playing a secondary role in Enzo Maresca's project. He has only started 9 out of 19 games, only 3 of them in the Premier League, which is the most important championship that the Blues are playing in this season. It should be borne in mind, however, that, given the overloaded schedule, his coach may refuse to let him leave, even if he does not place him among his favourites.
With a contract until 30th June 2031, it would be interesting for Chelsea to get rid of his salary and gain room for manoeuvre in the winter transfer window if they want to strengthen their squad. The end of 2024 and the beginning of this year have brought with them a results crisis made up of disappointments such as a 2-0 defeat to Ipswich Town and a 1-2 loss to Fulham.
