Optimism is everywhere in Saudi Arabia after beating Argentina. So much so that they are not just limiting themselves to the national side, but they are dreaming further beyond that, as well, with regards to the Saudi League.
Cristiano Ronaldo, as he already admitted in his famous interview with Piers Morgan, received a multi-million pound offer to play in the domestic league, an offer which, at the time, he rejected. But now without a club, they want to try again.
While they try to convince the Portuguese man, the Saudis have now got their sights set on Leo Messi. And that is how the President of the Saudi Arabia Federation, Yasser Al-Misehal, put it.
"We want to talk about it (Leo signing for an Saudi team) after the World Cup", Al-Misehal admitted when speaking to 'La Nacion'.
The number 10 has only got a few months left on his PSG contract, but the club aim to extend his stay for at least another season. This is particularly what the Argentine is thinking, after going through one of his best spells since arriving in France. But from Arabia, it seems they do not want to snap out of their dream of reuniting Ronaldo and Messi.
