It's over for Neymar and Paris Saint-Germain. The Brazilian has reportedly reached an agreement to leave the French capital and sign for Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal for two seasons. According to 'L'Equipe', the deal sees the 31-year-old earn 160 million euros across the two years.
It remains for PSG, who want to get rid of the striker, and the Saudi Arabian team to agree on the terms of the transfer, which could be finalised in the coming days. According to the French outlet, the Parisian club have already received an initial offer and is currently in negotiations.
Both the coach, Luis Enrique, and the sporting director, Luis Campos, already announced to the striker this week that he would not feature much, if at all, in the coming season. That factor has been a determining factor in accelerating talks for Neymar's departure.
With a contract signed until 2027, PSG is looking to secure the 31-year-old's departure this summer, as he never quite lived up to the expectations of his high-profile €222 million transfer from Barcelona in 2017, which remains the most expensive in history.
The Parisian club played their opener on Saturday in the new season of the French League and the team only managed a goalless draw at home to Lorient.
The Parisian eleven took the field at the Parc des Princes without the big stars of last season: Leo Messi, who packed his bags to go to Miami, Neymar, ruled out and recovering from a virus, and Kylian Mbappe, in the stands, as a result of the deadlock with the club over his future.
As for the latter there was good news this Sunday, with the club confirming his return to training with the main squad, in addition to leaks that the player could have opened a door to his renewal this year.
