Canelo Alvarez was not afraid when he came out and threatened Messi on Twitter, and Kun Aguero immediately defended his fellow Argentine and good friend. The ex-Argentina player went in hard on the Mexican boxer.

The controversy started by Canelo Alvarez over the video of Leo Messi celebrating in the changing room continues. The Mexican boxer was annoyed on social media after claiming that Leo Messi kicked the Mexico shirt, despite it being seen clearly that it was more of a simple mistake from the Argentine when taking off his boots, and he brushed past the Mexican shirt with his right foot.
"I hope for his sake we don't meet", Canelo wrote on Twitter, in a clear threat to Messi which has gone viral and has generated all types of opinion. On the one hand, there are those who have thought the same as the famous boxer and who have threatened Leo, but on the other, there are even some Mexican fans who recognise that the Argentina captain did not kick the shirt intentionally.
But it is not just Mexicans who have given their opinion on the matter. A lot of Argentinians have spoken out to either stir up the argument more, or to try and calm things down.
And one of those who have rose to the defense of Messi is his ex-Argentina teammate Sergio Aguero. Kun did not take long to respond to Canelo on Twitter with a simple message: "Mr Canelo, don't look for excuses or problem, you probably don't know football and what happens in a dressing room. The shirts, after finishing a game, are always on the floor because you've sweated so much and after, as you can clearly see, he takes his boot off without caring where it goes".
