It is undoubtedly the transfer saga of this summer's transfer widow. With Kylian Mbappe refusing to activate the renewal clause in his contract until 2025, Paris Saint-Germain have decided to leave him out of their pre-season tour. In order to avoid him leaving as a free agent in 2024, the club want the Bondy-born player to extend his contract or leave this summer for a transfer fee.
Al Hilal have been very active this summer, and are more than ready to try to land the French superstar. According to various media reports, the Saudi club have already sent PSG an offer of €300 million for Mbappe. But that offer is nothing compared to the salary that the Saudis would be prepared to pay for the French star.
However, Al Hilal are aware that the hardest part of the deal is convincing the player. That is why, according to Fabrizio Romano, the club intend to travel to Paris this week to open talks with the player and propose their plan.
The plan would be to offer him a one-year contract and then let him go free at the end of the 2023-2024 season.
The Italian journalist adds that PSG are convinced that the former Monaco player has already reached an agreement with Real Madrid to sign for free at the end of his contract in June 2024.
