Al Nassr and Cristiano Ronaldo failed to live up to expectations. They lost 1-0 to Al Ain in the first leg of the AFC Champions League quarter-finals. Luis Castro's side will have to come from behind in the second leg.
Soufiane Rahimi found the net on the stroke of half-time. Despite the change in momentum after the break, the Saudi club were without a goal and were not up to the task.
The final straw for Al Nassr came in stoppage time. In a dispute over a corner kick, Aymeric Laporte was shown a red card for aggression. The Spanish centre-back will not play in the second leg.
Cristiano Ronaldo will be absent for the second leg, and Al Nassr will have to show their commitment to the goal. Al Nassr will have to show a very different side if they want to stay alive in the fight for AFC Champions League glory.
