Inter Miami are currently sitting well at the bottom of the Eastern Conference of the MLS, but that seems to be of little importance to the stars who have joined the American club, and those who are planning to do so ahead of next season. The latter category now appears to include Jordi Alba and Sergio Ramos.
'Sport' reported on Sunday that both players are close to signing for the Miami team. Both the left-back and centre-back find themselves without teams, after both leaving their clubs at the end of their contracts, walking away from Barcelona and PSG respectively.
The outlet wrote that, in Alba's case, the deal is very close to being signed. The now former-Barca player has kept quiet about his next chapter, but the MLS has been an option more than once in the past, and now it would see him reunite with former teammates Leo Messi and Sergio Busquets. The veteran would try to become the team's main left-back, after losing his place last season to Alex Balde in Spain.
There is also apparently a very good understanding between Inter Miami and Sergio Ramos. The Spaniard did not renew with PSG after his contract expired, and he still doesn't have a team for next season, despite links to Sevilla.
In fact, he offered himself to the Europa League champions, but was turned away. The same outlet reports that talks are less advanced than with Alba, but there is interest from Miami and he is their number one choice for defense.
