Alleged sexual abuse and alcoholism - Ben Yedder's off-field problems continue

Wissam Ben Yedder does not see the light at the end of the tunnel. The former Monaco player is patiently awaiting his trial on 15th October to determine whether or not he committed sexual abuse on a woman whose thigh he allegedly touched while masturbating. This accusation is one more to add to the record of a player who was already accused of attempted rape and sexual assault in 2023 and who in 2022 also experienced another similar episode in France.
The latest incident took place in the early hours of 6-7th September and had already been reported a few days ago, but now many more details have come to light. A woman accuses him of touching her and trying to kiss her inside his car. Shortly afterwards, to add to the seriousness of the incident, police arrested Ben Yedder in a drunken state and with a blood alcohol content of 0.76 milligrams per exhaled air after the footballer attempted to flee.
Currently, the former player of the Principality team has avoided temporary detention, but in exchange for severe measures. He cannot leave the house from 20.00 to 06.00, he cannot contact the alleged victim and, of course, he is not allowed to leave the Alpes-Maritimes. "It is a just and necessary decision," said the footballer's lawyer Me Hasna Louze, but the Nice prosecutor's office had tried to toughen this provisional sentence.
While awaiting trial, Ben Yeddder has been working with psychiatrists and psychologists to deal with alcohol problems that are bordering on addiction. "I'm trying very hard. Stopping is definitely the best solution to cure myself," Ben Yedder was quoted as saying by 'Bild'.
Apparently, this latest incident involving the 34-year-old took place in his car and Ben Yedder, according to the same media outlet, had a bottle of whisky and a bottle of Coca-Cola. A man and a woman entered his car and, after the former got out, the events of which he is accused allegedly took place.
According to the German media, Ben Yedder tried to masturbate and touch her thigh, after which she managed to escape to hide behind some rubbish bins. Later, she went to a friend's house and, secondly, to a relative's house, after which she went to file a complaint. "You feel all-powerful because you are a football player. You think you can get away with anything," according to media reports, the public prosecutor told Ben Yedder at the preliminary hearing.
