Ruben Amorim has admitted that he has no idea how to fix Manchester United's inconsistency as the Red Devils were once again unsuccessful in earning a Premier League win on Saturday against Everton. At Old Trafford, the hosts put in a dreadful first-half display to fall two goals behind scored by Beto and Doucoure.
Man United salvaged a point as Bruno Fernandes's free-kick found the back of the net in the 70th minute - it was the home side's first shot on target of the match - before Manuel Ugarte's volley marked a dramatic equaliser with 10 minutes from time. But the result still left them languishing 15th in the Premier League.
“I don't know what I need to do to bring more consistency. If I knew, I would change it," the United boss said after the Everton draw. “We have to continue to think in the next game, everything we do in the week we have to use it in the game. If we do that, we are near to winning games like we did in the second half.
Having failed to win any of their last four top-flight games, Amorim insisted that the Red Devils would have to survive the campaign before changes could be made to fix the issues. "In this moment we need to focus on day by day. We need to survive this season, and then think ahead. We have so many problems," the Portuguese added.
Man United will next see themselves taking on lowly Ipswich Town, who will be desperate to capitalise on their opponent's struggles to aid their bid to survive demotion to the Championship. 17th-placed Ipswich sit five points away from salvation while Amorim's men hold a 13-point cushion on the relegation zone.
