Lionel Messi, who is undoubtedly one of the biggest player to have ever played for Barcelona, will not be able to celebrate the club's 125th anniversary with the 'Azulgrana' shirt on, but has spoken up on his glorious time with the Catalunya side in light of the special occasion.
Despite a bittersweet farewell in 2021, Messi has never failed to declare the love he feels for Barcelona. Not being able to attend the gala on Friday to celebrate the milestone, the Argentine featured in the program 'Nou Clam' on '3Cat', hosted by the Commissioner of the 125th anniversary of the club, David Caraben.
"Firstly, congratulations on these 125 years. I want to say that it's an honour to be part of the club, to be a Barcelona fan, I was fortunate that God brought me to this place and made me spend my entire life in this wonderful club," said the Inter Miami forward.
"A special club, different from all, with how difficult it is in these times to be a different club, because of how things are handled today in football and how everything has changed. And that today it is represented as we want and like the first team, is a very great pride," he added. "I miss the club, the city, the people, the affection a lot... And as always, I hope we continue to do well and can make this club even greater," he concluded.
