Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti confirmed in his penultimate appearance of the season that he will remain Real Madrid coach next season and will honour the contract signed with the club, in a "honeymoon" that "continues", with the hope of doing better next year.
"The honeymoon continues, I have not had any problems with the club, quite the opposite, the relationship has improved in this period that we have spent together. We are moving on," Ancelotti confirmed at a press conference at the Valdebebas training complex.
"I'm very happy to continue and try to do even better next season," he added after winning three titles this season: Copa del Rey, Club World Cup and European Super Cup.
Ancelotti gave himself a positive assessment of the season that is coming to an end, although he acknowledged that in the face of such a heavy fixture load, up to 61 games, he found it difficult to give his players the necessary motivation in some matches.
"It's difficult to give yourself a grade, what I feel is that it has been a very long and complicated season. We have worked a lot, we haven't had much time and on a personal level sometimes I haven't been able to transmit a high level of motivation because being motivated every three days is very complicated," he confessed.
"I have given everything I could give. The grade I'm giving myself is positive, but I'm sure I'll do better next year," he said.
