Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois said their encounter against Atalanta in the European Super Cup final will be a "complicated" one against opponents who press all over the pitch, but assured his team will train to win the title.
"We will be ready for Atalanta. We played a few years ago in the Champions League and it was a tough game, we know it's a complicated game, but we're going to train to try to win this game. We want to win this title," he said in an interview with 'Madrid TV'.
"Even if we don't pay much attention to the records, with the team we have, with a lot of young players eager to win titles, I'm sure we will do everything we can to win and that means breaking another record, it's a nice motivation, but the most important thing is to win the title," he added.
The Belgian goalkeeper assured that he is fit and ready for this season after leaving behind the serious knee cruciate injury he sustained last season, from which he recovered in time to play and win the Champions League.
"I am fit and ready for this coming season. I am happy with how I finished a very difficult season. This pre-season, I have started very well and I hope everything continues like this. I feel good, I have no problems and that's the most important thing," confirmed Courtois, who said he likes pressure and big challenges.
He also had words of praise for his coach Carlo Ancelotti, whom he defined as one of the best coaches of all time. "I really think he is one of the best coaches of all time, he has proved it at all the clubs he has been at. When he retires, he will be known as one of the best coaches in history," he concluded.
