Fabrizio Romano, a journalist specialising in the transfer market, says it is confirmed that Anthony Martial will leave Manchester United at the end of the season, when his contract expires. The Frenchman will spend the next few months recovering from a groin injury that has sidelined him since early December, so he will have plenty of time to determine his future.

All that remains is for it to be officially confirmed that Anthony Martial will leave Manchester United at the end of the season. The striker, who spent half of the 2021-22 season on loan at Sevilla, will not reach an agreement with the Old Trafford board in the coming months to extend a contract that expires on 30th June. The journalist Fabrizio Romano has published this on his social networks, in which he has given some more details.
The main one is that he is not expected to return to the pitch as a Red Devil. He is recovering from a groin injury that has kept him on the sidelines since the beginning of December and that, now, he will be able to take advantage of, in part, to manage his near future more calmly. The plan is for him to spend the next few weeks considering the offers on the table in order to make the best decision without having to deal with negotiations between clubs.
It would be an interesting operation to sign him, as his transfer value is 19.7 million euros. His inconsistency has dogged his career at Old Trafford, although this has not prevented him from having outstanding campaigns such as his debut season, 15-16, in which he scored 17 goals and provided seven assists in 49 appearances, or 19-20, in which he beat opposition goalkeepers on 23 occasions with eight assists in 48 appearances.
One of the most difficult areas for Anthony Martial has been his international career. This summer, there is the European Championship in Germany and it has been three seasons since he last appeared for the French national team. Had he been able to build on that sublime 2020, perhaps Didier Deschamps would still be able to count on him and he would be part of the squad of one of the great candidates to win the trophy.
