On Friday, Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo returned to training with the rest of his teammates. The Uruguyan was not able to play a single minute in his country's World Cup campaign.
Therefore, it is thought that he will be available for Xavi ahead of the first league game back after the break, which will be the derby against Espanyol at the Spotify Camp Nou on the 31st December. If he does end up recovering in time and there are no other injuries, the Barca manager will have the medical room free, and will only have to deal with Lewandowski being ruled out due to his match ban.
The squad got to work at the training ground after doing a gym session. The only ones to miss it were France's World Cup finalists Jules Kounde and Ousmane Dembele, who will get back to training next week.
Those who boosted the numbers in the training were academy players Chadi Riad, Arnau Casas, Lamine Yamal, Angel Alarcon y Dani Rodriguez.
This weekend, Xavi will give the players two days off so they can celebrate Christmas with their families, and on Monday afternoon, Boxing Day, they will get back to work with sights set on the game against Espanyol.
