Reports from 'Mundo Deportivo' suggest that Ronald Araujo will likely be back on the pitch towards the end of the year. The Uruguayan suffered a hamstring injury when facing Brazil in the quarter-finals of the Copa America on the 7th of July, forcing him to undergo surgery in Finland.
Following his sucessful surgery, the player has been focused on getting back to full health with a special recovery plan involving specific rehabilitation excercises and treatments designed to guarantee his return to peak fitness. Nonetheless, Barcelona are in no rush to get Araujo back on the pitch, as the club would rather be as cautious as possible to avoid risk of any setbacks or re-injury.
As of now, Barcelona will monitor the progress of the 25-year-old, who - should he make his return towards the end of the year as stated above - will work to strengthen the defence and contribute to the club, especially given the current congested calenders teams are having to deal with.
Patience is key for Araujo at the moment, as his Barcelona contract-extension talks are also currently unfolding.
