Barcelona and Ronald Araujo have come to the conclusion that it is best to have surgery to treat the muscle injury he suffered in the Copa America with the Uruguayan national team.

Ronald Araujo was injured half an hour into the Copa America quarter-final against Brazil. Since then, there has been secrecy about his injury, which has only been confirmed as a muscle problem. He underwent further tests on Monday at Barcelona's training complex and both parties decided that the best course of action was to have surgery to alleviate the injury in the long term.
The Catalan and international press agree on this diagnosis. It is also specified that the Uruguayan will be out of action for about five months, that is, until December, so he will miss important La Liga matches such as 'El Clasico' in October.
The defender joins Pedri Gonzalez, who suffered a grade two sprain at the European Championship playing for Spain, on Barcelona's injury list.
In December, Barcelona have four fixtures lined up. They face Las Palmas on the 1st, Real Betis on the 8th, Leganes on the 15th and Atletico Madrid on the 22nd.
