Arda Guler informs Madrid he won't leave on loan
SER's 'Carrusel Deportivo' programme reports that Arda Guler has informed Real Madrid that he wants to stay with the club for next season without a loan move. He wants to fight for a place in Carlo Ancelotti's midfield, where he was unable to make a full impact last season due to injuries to the inner meniscus of his right knee and the anterior rectus of his left leg.

Arda Guler wants to fight for an important place at Real Madrid next season. The Turkish international is currently on international duty at the European Championship and, in the hours leading up to their last-16 match against Austria, 'Carrusel Deportivo', on the 'SER' channel, reported that he has told the club led by Florentino Perez that he does not intend to accept a loan move when the 24-25 campaign gets underway.
In the previous campaign, he was barely able to compete for a notable role under Carlo Ancelotti because injuries deprived him of opportunities. He suffered from an inner meniscus in his right knee and an ACL in his right leg, which affected his statistics to the extent that he only made 12 appearances on the pitch, five of them as a starter. This was enough to make an impact, however.
Between these good feelings, the good ones he has left in Germany and the fact that the 'Merengue' midfield is saying goodbye to Toni Kroos, who retires at the end of the continental championship in his country, options are opening up for the former Fenerbahce player to start appearing in the line-ups. It is worth remembering that he cost around 20 million euros, so it is not exactly a small investment.
In the short time he was on the pitch for Real Madrid, in fact, he scored as many goals as he did in his best season in the Turkish league, where he hit six goals in the 22-23 season. He only previously surpassed that mark at U19 level, when he scored 10 goals between 2020 and 2021. Even so, it is not because of his profile in front of goal that he is seen as a potential asset at the Spanish side, but because of his refined technique and creativity around the opposition box.
