Argentina captain Lionel Messi underwent several medical tests to rule out any serious injuries. The 36-year-old asked to be replaced against Ecuador because he was unable to continue playing.
The striker went to a clinic in Buenos Aires on Saturday for medical tests, as announced by manager Lionel Scaloni at Argentina's post-match press conference after their game against Ecuador.
However, the Argentina national team have not yet confirmed the injury Messi is suffering, nor have they announced whether he will be available for their next international match.
"I was a bit tired. It just happened and it probably won't be the last time I come off during a match. But I felt very good, even though it was very difficult to play," Messi explained why he asked to be replaced.
Finally, the current Inter Miami player is not suffering from a muscle injury as expected as he went off the pitch with problems in his right thigh.
