Argentina trained on Sunday at the Lionel Messi Stadium in the Buenos Aires city of Ezeiza with a revamped defence following the injury losses, ahead of next Tuesday's game against Peru in the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
The activity began on the pitch under the supervision of fitness trainer Luis Martin, with an intense warm-up and coordination drills.
Then, Scaloni designed a tactical practice with players from Javier Mascherano's U20 team, who arrived in the morning after the two wins against Bolivia in Santa Cruz de la Sierra.
Two 25-minute halves were played and the ‘Albiceleste’ coaching staff worked on footballing aspects with various positional and name variations, focusing mainly on defence.
With respect to the match against Paraguay, Argentina suffered two absentees due to injury: ‘Cuti’ Romero and Nahuel Molina, while Nicolas Tagliafico progressed positively from the discomfort in his right shoulder and completed the practice alongside his teammates.
On Monday, the ‘Albiceleste’ will have their final practice and Scaloni will hold his usual press conference at the Lionel Messi Stadium.
