Kieran Tierney now looks almost set to join La Liga side Real Sociedad this season on loan, as both the player and Arsenal have ok-ed the move and agreed terms with the Spanish club.
According to 'The Athletic' on Thursday, the deal does not include even the option to buy the 26-year-old but the Spaniards are paying a loan fee to the Gunners, as well as the defender's salary in full.
Journalist and transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano then reported on Friday that Tierney would travel to Spain on Saturday for his medical and to complete the move.
Although he has made over 120 appearances with Arsenal since he joined from Celtic in 2019, Tierney has seen himself fall down the pecking order at Emirates, and although a fan favourite, his last start for Arsenal came all the way back in May, in a league defeat against Brighton.
The move to Spain secures him more regular minutes on the pitch and will see him competing in the Champions League with Real Sociedad, who currently sit 13th in the Spanish league, having drawn their opening two matches.
