Arteta's side finished as runners-up to relentless Manchester City for a second successive season after falling just short on the final day. City have won an unprecedented four consecutive titles and have been crowned champions six times in the last seven years. Their reign shows no sign of coming to an end, with Arsenal's brilliant form in 2024 still not enough to dethrone them.
As a result, they are already organising their squad for next season as they want to make no mistakes in order to overtake their arch-rivals in the race for the next Premier League title. They announced on Monday their 19-man released list for the 2024/25 term.
Players such as Mohamed Elneny and Cedric Soares will bid farewell to the Emirates Stadium in June to start a new adventure at another club. Arthur Okonkwo has also not been offered a new contract by the Gunners.
"It’s been an incredible journey, from joining at the age of eight, I’m now 22 and I’ve been there for 15 years which has been brilliant because I’ve worked with amazing people," Okonkwo said.
Meanwhile, the board and coach Mikel Arteta are already working on new summer reinforcements. Benjamin Sesko, who currently plays for RB Leipzig, could become Arsenal's new player in the next few days.
