In the last few hours, current Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta surprised everyone and confirmed they will try and get new signings in this January. After the Mykhailo Mudryk hammer blow, who went to Chelsea, the London side have started to enter negotiations for three other candidates.
According to 'The Athletic', the Gunners' board are to intensify their negotiations with the idea of getting in Bryan Mbeumo (Brentford), Jota (Celtic) or Arnaut Danjuma (Villarreal).
"I'm really proud to have the players we have, even though we always want to try and improve the squad. We have excellent players. We want to improve our team this January. We're working on it, but we'll do the deals that we can and the ones we believe to be the right ones for the club. We've got to be disciplined and be aware of the objectives we have. We can make the players better, we're going to focus on that", the Spanish manager said after beating Tottenham.
We will have to see what happens in the next few weeks, but what is certain is that the Premier League leaders do not want to leave anything to chance, and will try and strengthen the squad to continue the dream of winning the title.
Arsenal were willing to spend €75 million on Mudryk, which means they have enough money to get in a few big names before the transfer window shuts.
