Chelsea booked their place in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup after claiming a hard-fought victory over Leeds United in the last 16. The Blues managed to avoid extra time against the Peacocks thanks to a late Conor Gallagher goal.
The FA Cup quarter-finals will take place on 16th March, so the Premier League matches that were supposed to be played by the teams that have qualified for the next round have had to be postponed.
This is the case for the match between Arsenal and Chelsea for Matchday 29 at the Emirates Stadium, which was due to be played on 16th March but has been postponed, the Gunners have announced in an official statement.
"Our Premier League game against Chelsea, scheduled for Saturday, March 16th, has been postponed after the Blues reached the FA Cup quarter-finals," reads the statement.
"We were due to take on the west Londoners at Emirates Stadium on that day, however after Mauricio Pocchetino's men beat Leeds United in the fifth round on Wednesday night, they will now tackle Leicester City in the last eight of the competition over the course of that weekend instead. Details about a new date for that fixture will be announced in due course.
