Asencio not worried about the charges against him

Raul Asencio has been charged with an alleged offence of child pornography for distributing a sex video of a minor. For the first time, publicly, the recently called-up member of the Spanish national team addressed the issue in statements to ‘RTVE’.
"I think everyone is aware of what they are doing. For that part, I'm very calm. So, well, live day by day. In the end, it's a matter of deadlines. I have noticed this change of pressure on the pitches. It's logical, with the change of category. I'm a person who likes and is motivated by feeling that pressure. Since I was a kid, I'm used to feeling that pressure at Real Madrid. It makes me even more motivated", he said.
Asencio insists on his innocence. To understand the context, he and 3 other players from the Real Madrid youth academy were arrested by the Guardia Civil in 2023 for an alleged offence of revealing secrets of a sexual nature.
As it is a child pornography offence, the sentence could be up to 5 years in prison. The UCO, in the investigation process, intercepted their mobile phones, where they discovered messages such as "the worst thing is that She was 16", "if I tell you their age, you'll freak out", "you are not aware of the blows we gave them; their asses and faces, like tomatoes" or "but what bitches."
Raul Asencio did not participate in these recordings, which does not exempt him from the current process in which it is being investigated whether he really disseminated these videos. The courts will have the last word in this case, while the player could make his debut with the Spanish national team in this international window.
