Free of contract since leaving Aston Villa, Ashley Young has agreed a one-season deal with Everton. He is due to sign on Tuesday once he has passed his medical.
The 38-year-old made 32 appearances for Aston Villa last season, 23 of them as a starter. He returned to the Villains in 2021 after two years at Inter Milan.
The striker is capable of playing in a number of positions, including left-back, so he would bring huge experience and versatility to Everton, who finished 17th in the Premier League last season.
The Toffees would be the fifth team the English player would play for in his career, as he started at Watford, before joining Aston Villa, where he spent five seasons before moving to Manchester United. He spent nine seasons there before Inter secured his services for two seasons, prior to his return to the Villains.
