"Atletico are the club I was looking for"

Robin Le Normand, Atletico Madrid's new signing from Real Sociedad, admitted on Wednesday that one of the reasons he has joined the Madrid outfit is to take "a step forward" in his career.
"Atletico are a great club who have shown in recent years the way they compete and that's what I was looking for, a team that would allow me to take a step forward in my career," said the defender during his official presentation as the team's new player.
The player said he was happy to have landed at the Metropolitano. "It has been spectacular. My teammates have helped me from the very first moment. I couldn't have dreamed of anything better," he added.
"The group is very strong and Simeone has shown the quality he has. We have to take it one game at a time, and we'll see where we can get to. We won't be short of desire," he said of the team's objective for the 2024/25 season.
Le Normand arrived at Atletico after playing for Real Sociedad, with whom he won the Copa del Rey in 2020 and played 221 games, scoring six goals. He has been capped 17 times by the Spanish national team, with whose shirt he won the Nations League in 2023 and, most recently, Euro 2024.
