Simeone made it clear that no player is above Atletico Madrid, and consequently left Joao Felix on the bench for the first match of the pre-season. The 'Colchoneros' were very unhappy after his public declarations of love for Barcelona, and according to 'CMTV', they have demanded an apology from him.
Atletico want an apology from the young Portuguese star for his comments over wanting a move to the Catalan side. The club has reportedly decided that they will only listen to offers for the striker if he publicly apologises to the club and their fans.
According to the Portuguese press, Benfica want him to return, and Atletico are themselves interested in Goncalo Ramos. They want to include the 'Golden Boy' in a swap, on loan with an obligatory buy-clause, but the Portuguese side have turned down that offer.
Other interested parties appear to be Galatasaray, Aston Villa and Barcelona. As for the latter, it would be Joao Felix's first choice, as he publicly announced, but they don't see it as a viable option, due to Financial Fair Play regulations, so it looks unlikely he'll be joining Xavi Hernandez's squad.
