Atletico Madrid slam Vinicius bridge effigy; "These are repugnant acts"

After Atletico Madrid told 'EFE' their position on the placard and effigy of Vinicius which appeared ahead of the derby against Atletico Madrid in the Copa del Rey. Atletico slammed the behaviour of their supporters in a statement. ""These are repugnant and inadmissible acts that shame society," the statement reads and they talk of a "message of hatred."

In the build up to the Madrid derby in the Copa del Rey quarter-finals, a banner against Real Madrid was displayed together with an effigy of Vinicius hung off a bridge by his neck. Atletico's ultra group 'Frente Atletico' are allegedly responsible for it and the phrase "Madrid hates Real".
Atletico, after condemned this behaviour to 'EFE', they issued an official statement and called on the authorities to intervene: "The rivalry between the two clubs is the greatest, but so is respect. No individual, whatever their intentions or colours, can tarnish the coexistence between different supporters. It is everyone's responsibility to avoid this," the statement began.
"In view of the image that appeared today in various media outlets in which a message of hatred was launched in the hours before the match that will face us tonight against Real Madrid in the quarter finals of the Copa de S.M. el Rey, Club Atlético de Madrid communicates that such acts are absolutely repugnant and inadmissible and shame society. Our condemnation of any act that attacks the dignity of persons or institutions is categorical and unreserved," Atletico added.
The club went on to call for strong action to be taken against those responsible. "We do not know the perpetrator or perpetrators of this despicable act, but their anonymity does not avoid their responsibility. We hope that the authorities succeed in clarifying what happened and that justice helps to banish this type of behaviour," they concluded.
