The Atletico Madrid Foundation and the Cruz Roja will collect basic necessities on Sunday before the match of the 12th round of La Liga EA Sports against Las Palmas at the Metropolitano stadium to deliver them to the areas most affected by the floods caused by the DANA, specifically the Valencian towns of Utiel and Paiporta, where they will also offer “support in the cleanup work”.
“After the very serious damage caused by the floods caused by the recent dana, Atletico Madrid have decided to join forces to help the most affected areas,” announced Thursday the Madrid entity, which explained that they have also enabled, together with the Cruz Roja, a website to receive financial contributions to help those affected.
From 11.00 a.m. on Sunday, “an area dedicated to the collection of material will be set up outside the stadium in front of gate 29/30”. “In the next few hours, and after receiving precise indications from the authorities coordinating the aid, we will provide a list of the needs that are a priority in the hardest hit areas,” they added.
“All the donated material will be transported to the vicinity of Utiel and Paiporta, two of the most affected areas, to be distributed among the affected people in coordination with the Valencian Community and the authorities in the area. Volunteers from the Atletico de Madrid Foundation will help in the distribution,” he added.
In addition, the 'Colchoneros' foundation informed that they will offer their “help and support in the clean-up work” in the area and “will also contribute with the purchase of material to join the rest of the donations”.
“In memory of all the victims, the flag of tribute to our fans located at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano flies at half-mast. Rest in peace,” Atletico Madrid added in the statement posted on their official website.
