Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo spoke about the summer transfer market in the run-up to the squad's pre-season dinner at the Jose Maria restaurant in Segovia, fulfilling a tradition of more than two decades in which several of the players split suckling pig in the traditional manner.
Questioned about Dovbyk and Julian Alvarez, who are being heavily linked with the Spanish club, he decided to avoid the subject as much as possible. "I like all the good players, like the ones we have at Atletico and the ones around the world, who are almost all very good," he said.
"I thought you were going to tell me things you guys did," he said ironically to the press. "So far all we have are projects, the technical team is working and when we have something firm, have no doubt that you will know about it," he added.
Cerezo again stressed that the players "play where they want to play", in reference to the departure of Alvaro Morata. "He is a magnificent player, a magnificent captain of the Spanish national team and he is going to succeed at Milan," he concluded.
