After Manchester United saw their opening offer for defender Benjamin Pavard rejected by Bayern Munich, the Red Devils might be powerless to watch in horror as the French international walks away from them all together.
It was reported on Monday by journalist and transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano that Serie A side Inter Milan have made a move and now have secured a deal in principle for the 27-year-old.
The Italian wrote that the deal was worth 30 million euros as a base fee, with another 2-3 million in bonuses completing the package. Both the player and Bayern are on board with the move, leaving Old Trafford lacking an option to boost their defense with.
The only thing standing in the way of the move is for the German champions to find a suitable replacement for their defender and then Pavard can pack his bags for Italy.
