Welshman Gareth Bale is now Real Madrid history, but he doesn't forget the years he spent at the Santiago Bernabeu. In a football chat on 'A League of Their Own', he was asked what advice he would give to Jude Bellingham, who now delights the 'merengue' fans, and encouraged him to be a "puppet" if he doesn't want to go wrong.
"The biggest advice I would give Jude, is to 'play the game'. If you don't play the game and don't do what the media wants, basically be a puppet, you get a lot of stick," said the former Real Madrid player to 'Sky'.
Bale believes that his failure to do so played a part in his downfall at the club. "You see a lot of Galacticos 'play the game'. I didn't want to do it, which probably made them attack me a bit more," added Bale.
“I just wanted to play football and go home and that probably hindered me and that made them attack me a bit more." He concluded his advice by urging Bellingham to ‘speak in Spanish’ during media appearances.
