Barcelona faced Manchester United in the last 32 of the Europa League at the Camp Nou. In the first half both teams pressed hard and shared possession of the ball for the first 45 minutes. Both United and Barca created almost as many chances and so it was a goalless draw in the first period. In the second half there were four goals but they were also 'shared'. Marcos Alonso scored the first goal of the game in the 50th minute. The defender dedicated the goal to his father, who passed away recently. Marcus Rashford struck back two minutes later to level the match. Raphinha tried his luck from 30 yards and De Gea could not stop the shot. However, Kounde scored a goal of his own after an attempt from Rashford and Shaw. Moreover, Pedri was injured and Gavi received the yellow card he needed to miss the next match. Both teams are in a very similar sporting situation and were not able to show who are better and so they will have to settle this issue at Old Trafford.
