Barcelona will begin their La Liga title defense in Madrid, as they face Getafe on Sunday night to open their 2023-24 campaign. The Coliseum Alfonso Perez is no friend to Xavi Hernandez's squad though, as the last three fixtures here have seen the Catalans held to two draws and a loss.
As if this wasn't enough, the away team's arrival to the stadium was not exactly friendly. Home fans gathered around the bus and greeted the players with boos and whistles at the stadium entrance.
Added to this were shouts of "corrupt" and even a chant for Barca's eldest rivals, Real Madrid. Barca will try to start the season with a victory, but Bordalas' men will not make it easy for them. Getafe always stand out in their defensive capacity.
In Barca's favour is the registering of Ilkay Gundogan, which means that their star midfield signing will be able to take to the pitch, alongside the likes of Frenkie de Jong and Gavi.
