Barça have decided: Dest won't return

Sergino Dest is part of an exciting group of players who excelled at Ajax and managed to break into the big leagues, but, like other of his former teammates, he has not been able to establish himself completely. That's why Barcelona loaned him to Milan, where he will try to earn a long-term contract, as the 'Cules' have decided, according to the newspaper 'Sport', that he will not return.
At the moment, his contract as a Barcelona player extends until the summer of 2025, so he will return at the end of this season. However, Joan Laporta's technical secretariat will put him up for sale as soon as they have him available again, so the plan is that he will not even spend a few weeks in the squad now coached by Xavi Hernandez, who has other options for the full-backs.
The young defender's priority is to stay at the San Siro. He has already made it clear in public that he will fight to earn a move to the 'Rossoneri', for whom he has played in eight games so far, starting just two of them. He will have to take a step forward in order to be able to play in the Serie A next season.
A good way to boost his career could be at the World Cup in Qatar. Sergino Dest has been called up by the United States, who are not among the favourites for glory. If he earns a starting berth, puts in a string of good performances and returns for the second half of the season stronger, he may find himself in the spotlight as much as he would like.
