Barca "have lost €1 billion in 2 years"
Victor Font, who put himself forward as a candidate for the Barcelona club presidency criticised the management of Joan Laporta and his board. He stated that what he's done was "equal to or worse than Josep Maria Bartomeo". His proof for this, he declared, was the "€1 billion in losses" that the club have registered in two and a half years.

Victor Font has wanted to be president of Barcelona since Josep Maria Bartomeu stepped aside. However, instead Joan Laporta was elected.
The former candidate spoke openly to the media, criticising the president's mandate. "The club is worse off now than it was two and a half years ago, these are the stats. We have more spending, more losses, less sponsership and more debt. Economically, Laporta is doing the same thing or worse than Bartomeu", he declared.
"The economic situation is very worrying. We have already €1 billion in losses in the business: 500 million in the first season (which was shared with the previous Board), 169 million last year and this year will be 250 million in operating losses", he pointed out with the figures in hand.
Nor does he consider that he has done his job by cutting the players' salaries: "The wage bill is 30 million higher than under Bartomeu".
He moved on to accuse the president about having lied to the club's fans, for example, about the return of Leo Messi: "This club is incapable of making a common front. This environment, as Xavi says, is toxic ... It saddens me to see that the partners don't count for anything or they don't tell us the truth or they deceive us when we are told Messi can return".
As for the 'Negreira case', he defended that Barca has never tried to influence refereeing decisions, although he also lashes out at the presidency for how it has handled the issue. "There are no internal control mechanisms, and if it goes on like this they will slip us another case like this in the future," he said in closing.
