Teenage sensation Pau Cubarsi expressed his delight and pride in renewing his contract with 'the club of my life' to the microphones of 'Barca One' on Thursday. The 18-year-old penned a four-year deal to increase his stay at Catalunya until June 2029.
"I'm very happy. Renewing with the club of my life, the one that has given me everything and continuing to be tied for a few more years is a pride," the Barcelona defender said after the club's announcement this afternoon.
Speaking on the 'experiences' that brought him to cement his place in Hansi Flick's starting XI, Cubarsi said: "They (the experiences) have helped me both personally and on the pitch and I'm very happy with what is happening to me. My family is also helping me, they are always by my side."
"My teammates and all the staff have always helped me to be the player I am now and I thank them for everything they have given me. My goal was to come, enjoy and play with this shirt, which is the best in the world and then everything else came as a result of my game," he added.
Cubarsi concluded the brief interview with a note on what renewing with Barcelona feels like. "It's something that cannot be described with words. The best feeling in the world. Being a Barca player is a unique feeling that cannot be described in words."
