Barca midfielder Pedri critical of Ferran Torres' red card

Pedri criticised the diversity of criteria of the referees when sanctioning an action. For him, the tackle that Ferran Torres made on Asprilla was very similar to the one that Pathe Ciss made on him, but in that case, the Rayo player remained on the pitch and, on this occasion, his team-mate ended up seeing red.

Barcelona midfielder Pedri complained that the tackle that earned team-mate Ferran Torres a straight red card for a tackle on Yaser Asprilla was "more or less similar" to the one Pathe Ciss gave him against Rayo Vallecano "and he wasn't sent off".
"Sometimes referees don't whistle the same" complained Pedri after Barcelona's 4-1 drubbing at Montilivi. "We are very happy, we knew it was a complicated game, Girona are a team that, with the ball, play very good football, but the truth is that we started very well and with a lot of intensity," he explained.
The key to the win, according to the Canary Islander, was once again the team's pressing in the opposition half: "We have improved a lot in this respect. We are very clear about what the coach asks of us, how we have to position ourselves to press and it showed in Lamine Yamal's first goal".
Barcelona remain top of La Liga EA Sports, with five wins from five games. "We knew we had to start well. In other years, we didn't start as well as we would have liked and the coach told us to push hard from the start, that La Liga is won above all in these first few games. That, if you add up, you get the distance", concluded Pedri.
