Pedri was present for Monday's training session with the team after missing out on Barcelona's 7-1 demolition of Valencia in La Liga. The midfielder was ruled out of the squad at the last minute due to gastroenteritis, however, he is expected to return for the 'Azulgrana's upcoming fixture.
Hansi Flick's men take on Atalanta on matchday 8 of the Champions League - the final league-phase game of the tournament. Having already secured a top-eight finish, Wednesday's match will only serve to finalise Barca's position on the table and determine their possible opponents in the round of 16.
Pedri's return is certainly good news for the German head coach, who would want to finish off the league phase in the highest position. With 4 goals and 4 assists this season, the 22-year-old playmaker has been a crucial asset for Barcelona, not only in midfield but also in front of goal.
The 'Blaugrana' currently find themselves in 2nd place, three points behind Liverpool and two points ahead of Arsenal and Inter Milan. This means they could either end the league phase at the summit or slip down to fourth position with a defeat against the Italians. That said, it is also likely that they may remain in the same place.
