Roberto Firmino's contract with Liverpool expires in mid-2023 and, surprisingly, he will not remain at the English club from 1st July. The Brazilian striker took the decision not to renew his contract and will have to find a new club for next season.
In recent days, rumours have been spreading that the 31-year-old striker is all set to join FC Barcelona. However, the Catalan club have denied any information about this possible transfer.
In that sense, 'Marca' reported that the Brazilian himself had offered himself to the Catalan side, but the board rejected the proposal for two reasons: they are not willing to pay the high cost that the transfer demands and they are not looking for a striker with his characteristics.
Xavi Hernandez's side need a replacement for Robert Lewandowski, but Firmino is not the one. The candidate for the job is Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who wants to leave Chelsea and return to Barcelona.
Meanwhile, the Brazilian striker will have to continue his search for a new club. For example, Atletico Madrid could be one of those interested in landing him for next season.
