Noah Darvich has become the latest player this summer to join Barcelona. Coming up through Freiburg, the youngster has spent several seasons impressing in Germany, and now signs for Barca's reserve team until June 2026, in a transfer worth €2.5 million.
Although the Spanish side don't go into much deal on the financials, journalist and transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano reports that the move could end up costing up to triple that initial cost, as the deal includes an extra five million in performance-based add-ons.
He will join Barca Atletic in the third division, where his new team will kick off the coming season against SD Logrones on August 27th.
Before that, the team will face Valencia Mestalla in a friendly match scheduled for the 19th of August. This date is highlighted in the German's calendar, and he could make his debut. It would be the first time he has taken the field outside of his home country, where he has played his entire career so far.
"FC Barcelona and SC Freiburg have reached an agreement for the transfer of the German midfielder for 2.5 million euros and he signs until 30 June 2026 with a termination clause of 1 billion euros," reads the official Barcelona statement, which includes several photographs of the youngster posing with the club ball, wearing his shirt and being measured during his medical examination.
