FC Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez spoke to 'DAZN' after the win over Betis and reviewed how the game unfolded. He also gave his opinion on the debut of Lamine Yamal, the 15-year-old who took his first steps in the first team.
"After a defeat, we needed to bounce back. We started well, we got the 1-0 and with the sending off, it was a good start. We put the game to bed and then we tried to score more. It was a good game, we were able to have some rotations, one more step towards our objective", the coach began.
In the same vein, he highlighted Ousmane Dembele and Andreas Christensen's returns from injury: "They were important. For Dembele, with the game settled, he felt good. Christensen is an extraordinary player, we've missed him. The only thing missing is Sergi Roberto to come back".
Regarding Edgar's controversial sending-off, which left Betis a man down on the half-hour mark, Xavi was blunt: "From my point of view it was clear, especially the second one. Both plays were dangerous attacks".
Finally, the coach was pleased with Lamine Yamal's debut: "I told him to try things and he did. When you see him in training you realise that he can be a top player. He's got a lot of talent".
