It can be sensed that Barcelona's sporting management has moved up a gear in their sporting planning this week: several leaks about their transfer window have come to light. After reports that Nico Williams' arrival has cooled and Dani Olmo's is still hot, 'Daily Star' and 'Sport' agree that a deal with Manchester City for Joao Cancelo is all but sealed.
The conditions were published by the British tabloid a couple of days ago. The Azulgranas have offered a loan of 7 million pounds, with a buyout option of 18 million pounds, at the end of the season. Thus the amount will be close to the 30 that the Skyblues have been asking for weeks with payment facilities for the Catalan budget.
Moreover, with the part that Joan Laporta's management will have to assume of the Portuguese's salary, which is 8.5 million this season, the difference between the 29 million that will be paid for the two planned transactions and the 30 million that the Etihad Stadium wanted from the beginning should be satisfied.
The Spanish newspaper details that the positions have been approached especially taking advantage of the Soccer Champions Tour, which means that delegations of both clubs coincide in the United States.
Joao Cancelo according to 'Sport', has agreed to significantly reduce his salary for Barcelona to sign him on a long-term deal -expected to run until 2028 or 2029-. The 'Daily Star' reports that his relationship with Guardiola remains cold, so it was not feasible for him to join the Etihad side's pre-season camp after the vacation he has enjoyed following the European Championship.
