Barcelona could be close to securing a key signing to strengthen their defence. According to transfer market specialist Fabrizio Romano, the Catalan club have agreed personal terms with Manchester City right-back Joao Cancelo.
Despite the fact that the 'Cules' are not in a good economic situation, the Italian journalist reports that Xavi Hernandez's team will use part of Dembele's budget, who is set to join Paris Saint-Germain, to reach an agreement with the Sky Blues for the transfer of their defender.
It is worth noting that Joao Cancelo was a key player in Pep Guardiola's plans, although in January last season there seems to have been a dispute between the Portuguese and the Spanish coach and so he left on loan to Bayern Munich until the end of the season.
During those months the former Barcelona coach felt comfortable using more centre-backs than full-backs, with the likes of Akanji, Stones, Ruben Dias and Nathan Ake, which was key to the Cityzens winning the treble. That is why the Mancunian club does not count on Joao Cancelo and why it is very likely that they will reach an agreement with the 'Cules' for the transfer of the player, who would undoubtedly be a top signing for the Camp Nou team.
