Xavi Hernandez has asked Barca for a full-back and a right-back for January. The coach wants these two players for the second half of the 2022-23 season.
However, the Spanish club have other matters to deal with. According to 'Mundo Deportivo', Barca want to close the renewals of Gavi, Ronald Araujo, Alejandro Balde and Inaki Pena. They are the main priority before the new signings.
Gavi and Araujo have already signed their renewal. Nevertheless, the club have to update their file in order not to breach Fair Play.
Otherwise, the club have been talking to Balde and Pena to close their renewal contracts but they will not be able to sign them until the team do not reduce their wage bill. For that reason, the Spanish side need to sell some players in January.
Barcelona want to sell Depay's signing and Bellerin could leave in January too. Nevertheless, they will only let Bellerin leave if the offer is good and they find another right-back.
Moreover, Barca are also looking for funding in other ways, with sponsorships and possible friendlies during the break.
