Barcelona and Pedri are more relieved after the player's update. The midfielder's injury in the quarter-final of the European Championship against Germany after a hard tackle by Toni Kroos is less serious than expected. The player, who won the title with ‘la Roja’, has an internal lateral sprain in his left knee. Although his club did not want to say how long he would be out, Pedri will only be out for a few weeks.
The former Union Deportiva Las Palmas player will therefore have to rest during his well-deserved holiday after the European Championship. Still, he should not have too many problems to join Hansi Flick's training sessions on his return.
Although it will be the evolution of the player that will determine his availability, this injury usually has an approximate downtime of 3 or 4 weeks in the most common cases, and up to 7 or 8 weeks if the problem is serious and the player's recovery is not going well.
After having to leave the Spain-Germany quarter-final on Friday 5 July, Pedri has been resting for more than 10 days now, so the countdown to his return to the pitch has already begun.
