Barça worried about Ferran Torres' current form
The newspaper 'Sport' assures that Barcelona's sports area is worried about Ferran Torres' level. He cost 55 million euros and, so far, he has not justified it. Although he started out as a regular starter, he has dropped down the pecking order.

Ferran Torres joined Barcelona last season as one of Joan Laporta's first big signings. It didn't take long for him to earn his place in the starting line-up. With his recent past at Manchester City, he had a good grasp of the tactical concepts that Pep Guardiola and Xavi Hernandez share. The problem is that, little by little, he has dropped down the pecking order.
This, according to the newspaper 'Sport', worries the Barcelona board. It is understood that his level is not what was expected and that he still does not justify the 55 million euros that were invested in him. The club board hope that the World Cup will serve as a turning point for him to improve in the second half of the season.
So far, he has made 14 appearances this season, four of them starts, scoring three goals and providing one assist. It is true that he appeared in the 'Clasico' to close the gap against Madrid, but he has also been missing in most of the important games. Apart from against 'Los Blancos', he only scored against Athletic and Viktoria Plzen.
At 22 years of age and with a contract until 2027, Ferran Torres has plenty of time to improve, but with the competition he faces in the squad, it is not out of the question that he could disappear from Xavi Hernandez's plans. Ansu Fati is getting fitter, Dembele seems to be one of the coach's favourites and Raphinha is also in contention for a starting place. The outlook for the former City player is complicated.
