Barcelona appeal Ferran Torres red
According to 'Sport', Barcelona have appealed the red card Ferran Torres got in the league game against Atletico Madrid after wrestling with Stefan Savic. The Catalan side are aware that the ex-Manchester City player will be sanctioned, but by appealing, they hope to reduce the amount of games he will be out for, as Xavi cannot afford more absences.

In the dying moments of the league game between Atletico Madrid and Barcelona, the tension was at its climax. Diego Simeone's men were dominating when looking for a goal that never arrived, and that is when battle commenced, from head to toe and the ball nowhere to be seen for either player. The referee sent both of them off with a straight red card.
The Spanish side are aware that their player will suffer a sanction, which is why they have appealed to reduce it, according to 'Sport'. The Barcelona lawyers were studying the posibility of presenting this allegation until they decided that they did indeed want to, so they sent the documentation just in time. Despite that, they still had enough time to get everything in order.
What they say about the ex-Manchester City man is the following: "In the 90th minute, the player (11) Torres Garcia, Ferran was sent off for the following reason: persistently grabbing an opponent player's hair while the ball was still in play, but when neither were near it". The most likely outcome is that both will be banned out for three games; therefore, the Camp Nou want to reduce that.
Ferran Torres is currently an important player for Xavi, but it is undeniable that his level has reduced a bit from last season, when he played 26 times, starting 25 after leaving City. His current campaign has seen him play 21 times, eith only eight starts, as his manager prefers to opt for other specialists like Dembele, or to play experimentally, like putting Pedri on the wing.
